If the piece was cleaned by a pro it would look even better. The money box is in good working order> It is quite rare to find one with its original hat made of some form of raffia with bone rings at each side. It is attached to the bank with a piece of yarn. The key is included and it works perfectly. The switch still works that propels the dog upward to drop the coins into the barrel. The bottom opens to allow removal of the coins. It would be near impossible to find one with all of the paint in my opinion. Some of the paint has come off and that is normal.
The condition is nice considering that it is over 130 years old. It was discovered after being in storage for many, many years.
